My car sustained damage this summer when I took my child from Colorado to eastern Oklahoma to visit his father who is on in-home hospice care for copd and emphysema. Unfortunately I hit something in the road on the way there and it poked a hole in the radiator. I’ve been filling it with water since June but now that temps will drop into the 20s over the weekend I can no longer delay on getting it repaired. The estimated cost is 650, including a new radiator and a couple of hoses. (Update: the actual cost was $649.50)

I’m a single mom of a child with cystic fibrosis. I’ve focused only on his care for the past 10+ years and our only ‘income’ in this time has been his SSI payments, but they recently discontinued those payments after reviewing his case and finding he no longer meets their criteria for disability. This makes no sense though because cystic fibrosis is a progressive condition that shortens life (you can read more about cystic fibrosis at www.cff.org). He can’t digest food, meaning he can’t grow, without medical intervention (digestive enzymes etc). I’m appealing that SSI decision but that takes time. I do now have a part time job but I have no funds in reserve and a friend suggested I come here to ask for help covering this repair. Managing CF care requires multiple trips to Children’s Hospital every year. I simply can not be without reliable transportation. I want to thank you in advance for your donation. Please share this link. It is greatly appreciated. There’s only a couple of days left for me to get help with this expense.
