I am excited to announce my candidacy for the 2020 elections in Windsor for mayor. I look forward to being able to run for the chance to represent every single citizen in Windsor at our town hall. The goal of this campaign is to bring the power back to the people and give every single citizen a voice. I will ensure that the rights and the values of the people of Windsor will be protected as their mayor. The town of Windsor has chosen to take the idea of now over the idea of a tomorrow. If Windsor stays on this path then surrounding towns such as Johnstown, Severance, and Timinath will quickly eclipse Windsor. Windsor must expand the infrastructure it so desperately needs to stay relevant in Northern Colorado. Windsor in its current state can not support the towns growth under the current infrastructure. Windsor must build new roads/expand new roads, must attract new industry to bring new jobs to the Northern Colorado area, and finally attract more business owners to call Windsor its home.  I look forward to running for mayor and will do everything possible to ensure that Windsor has a future and every citizen has a voice in their towns future.

I am currently a high school senior at Windsor Charter Academy. Ever since my freshman year, when I took a political science class through AIMS Community College, I have wanted to run for public office. With Mayor Kristie Melendez leaving office, I believe it is time for an outsider, someone who has listened to the problems of my neighbors in Windsor, someone who wants to make a difference in the town and community to step up and run for mayor in Windsor. Much of my civic spirit I credit to 3 people specifically, Senator John Cooke, my old Professor Lenina Olivas, who now owns an art shop in Loveland, and my math teacher Lara Holt, who is an active member in our town’s government. All three of these individuals have inspired me to run for office, and make a change in our community for the better. This past summer I went to Colorado Boys State through the American Legion, and was able to help enact policy in our figurative state, and believe that what I learned there I can apply to the Town of Windsor.
